Other foot pain
Other things to be aware of are stress fractures, osteoarthritis, neuromas. Stress fractures whilst occurring over a period of time, can onset with sudden increase in pain. There may be noticeable swelling, tenderness to touch and variable amount of pain on walking. Increasing stress on the area (running, jumping) generally exacerbates the problem fairly obviously. The metatarsal (long bones) are quite commonly involved in stress fractures.
