Bursitis
Bursitis is inflammation of the bursa, and a bursa is a small fluid filled sac generally located between soft tissue and bone to assist with smooth and fluid movement. Inflammation and pain can occur when the bursa is irritated by constant compression, a direct trauma or biomechanical disfunction where the force on the structure overriding it is consistently more than can be tolerated. (overuse injury). Depending on the cause treatment can be as simple as resting the effected area, however, if it is and overuse or misuse injury, then the cause needs to be identified and rectified or the problem may become chronic.
